Name; Emma Lynn Roth Nicknames; Em, Emy, Champ D.O.B; January 23, 1982 (27 years old)
A Fairly Brief History > It's almost a given that whatever your parents do, you're bound to do the same (unless, of course, it's some coming of age teen drama where the main character doesn't want to play pro football so his father can live vicariously through him...) So it came as no real surprise when Emma and her brother took to music the day their future stepfather brought over guitars in an attempt to win the six year old twins over. It was a huge success and within two years their art teacher mother married her folk rockin' boyfriend. >During high school it became quite evident that Em wasn't one for academics. Sure, she was a smart kid, but with zero ambition to write a paper or even go to college, her grades were dismal at best. While her brother worked on school assignments, Em locked herself away with her stepfather's records and her guitar, pouring her heart into learning everything she could about music. It came as no shock when the only A she'd earned in school was for her Music Theory class. >As her classmates studied for their SATs and took college prep courses, Emma found a second home in every section of Jerry's Records. It was filled with everything she loved; vinyls, books, musicians, and hippies! It was like her own little Wonderland. It wasn't long before the teenager started begging for a job, giving puppy dog eyes to any and everyone in order to secure one. She didn't want to be that kid that ended up in a fast food joint or living on their parents couch after graduation. Her dream job, however, wasn't offered to her until a few years later when a spot finally opened. Six years later, Em is the self-proclaimed Queen of the Vinyls (despite Jerry's absolute reluctance to allow that to be her actual position title). She's made a little family for herself out of the staff, whether they like it or not.
A Few Key Points >Emma's sexuality has never really been a question. It was obvious from the beginning she was bit more than just a tomboy. She's fortunate to have a family that could honestly care less if she ended up with a man or a woman. >She has the odd habit of giving those close to her random nicknames which seem to change on a daily basis. Pookie today may not be Pookie tomorrow. >Despite barely clearing five feet tall, Emma has a giant personality. She's grown a thick skin to short jokes and prefers to be called "pocket sized". The only real downside she can see is the fact that's she constantly mistaken for a teenager still and gets carded constantly. >Besides her love for music, Em is a crime drama fanatic. Her average night is spent knitting in front of the television watching Criminal Minds reruns. Yes...she knits. What of it? >Em has started about three different bands since high school. Her current band, which is just her and an acoustic guitar, has seemed to be the only one to thrive. She always knew she could rely on herself to show up to band practice and gigs on time. Despite her best efforts, her brother really isn't interested in joining her.
